Since Netflix started the trend back in 2020, streaming services have been increasingly reluctant to offer free trials. Peacock, Max, and even Starz all put an end to their free trials.

So, is there a Disney+ free trial in 2024? Not officially, no.

That doesn’t mean there’s no way to get Disney+ free trial, but the options have gotten very thin. To the point that they’re almost non-existent. However, there are ways to pay less for Disney+, which we get into below.

Read on for all you need to know about Disney+ free trials and deals in 2024.

Does Disney+ offer a free trial in 2024?

No.

Disney+ no longer has a free trial directly through the streaming service in 2024. Furthermore, there’s currently only one surviving free trial through a third party. And it requires that you’ve already signed up for a phone plan that is no longer offered.

Before we look at how to get Disney+ for free or cheaper in 2024, here’s how the major streaming services stack up in terms of standard free trials.

Streaming Service Free Trial Repeatable

Prime Video 30 Days Every 12 Months
Starz None* -
* The service does not offer a free trial directly, but there might be promotions and other ways to get a free trial.

How to get a Disney+ free trial in 2024

Getting a Disney+ free trial through a third party usually requires signing up (and paying) for another service or product. But if you’re going to be paying for something anyway, you should know if you can get a free trial (or free plan) on top of it.

Get a Disney+ free trial with Verizon Wireless

IMPORTANT: Verizon’s “Disney+ on us” deal must be activated before midnight on May 17, 2024.

Getting Disney+ for free with Verizon is something of a race against time. The good news is that select unlimited wireless plans with Verizon can get you 6 months of Disney+ for free.

However—and this is a big however—the bad news is that the eligible plans are “no longer available to add to your account”. This is Verizon’s way of saying you can’t sign up for them. They only exist as legacy plans, which means the deal is only open to people who have already signed up for one of the plans but didn’t activate the free trial.

These are the Verizon plans that eligible for the Disney+ 6-month free trial:

  • 5G Do More, 5G Start, Welcome Unlimited, One Unlimited for iPhone, Get More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, or Play More Unlimited (if you got the plan before August 20, 2020)
  • Verizon Plan Unlimited, Go Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, Above Unlimited

But all hope is not lost for those looking for a deal through Verizon. Read on below for how the mobile company can get you a good discount on the Disney Bundle.

Is there a Disney+ free trial on Amazon

No.

While you can sign up to Disney+ using your Fire TV or Fire Tablet, there is no longer a free trial available through Amazon.

Is there a Disney+ free trial on Roku?

No.

While you can subscribe to Disney+ and pay for it through your Roku account, there is no longer a free trial available through the platform.

Other ways to get Disney+ for free

In addition to free trials, you can also get Disney+ (or “Disney+ content”) free for conditional periods of time.

Get a Disney+ free with U.S. Mobile

Perks on US Mobile showing the Disney Bundle

The Disney Bundle—which includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+—is one of the perks you can choose with U.S. Mobile. However, it requires signing up for and maintaining 3 (three!) lines with Unlimited Plans on U.S. Mobile.

It’s a great deal if you’re in the market for multiple lines with an MVNO. It probably makes the most sense for families with kids who watch Disney (or Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, etc), but are old enough to have their own phone.

Read more about US Mobile perks here.

Get select Disney+ content free with Delta

Delta SkyMiles member used to get a 2-week free trial for Disney+, but that sweet deal has gone the way of legroom and complimentary drinks.

The Disney+ deal for Delta passengers isn’t as good as the Paramount+ deal with 24 hours of access, but it is what it is. And that’s basically access to “select Disney+ content” during your flight.

It’s not the most impressive deal around, but it’s worth being aware of if you plan to be flying Delta.

How to pay less for Disney+

While free is good, so is less. And sometimes less is even better than free. Here are the ways you can pay less for Disney+ in 2024.

Get Disney+ with Hulu + Live TV

Arguably the most attractive selling point of Hulu’s live TV streaming service is that it includes the Disney Bundle as part of its base subscription. The bundle includes Hulu’s on-demand streaming service, Disney+, and ESPN+.

Disney fans have 2 Hulu + Live TV plans to choose from, one with ads and without on Hulu and Disney+. (ESPN+ always has ads.)

Get a Disney+ discount with Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless perks that include the Disney Bundle
Get the Disney Bundle for less than half price with Verizon (April 2024)

While you can no longer sign up for a plan that gets you 6 months of Disney+ for free, Verizon has a Disney+ Bundle perk that’s just as good or better.

If you’re in the market for a cellphone plan, Verizon’s Unlimited Plus plan for movie lovers includes the Disney Bundle for $10/month. Naturally, if you add more lines, you get a lower price.

As with U.S. Mobile above, the Verizon deal makes more sense for families. The image above shows prices based on 4 lines. A single line is $110/month as opposed to $65.

Save 25% with a Disney+ military discount

Disney+ offers a military discount through The Exchange. Eligible US service members, veterans, and their families can get 25% off annual subscriptions.

Read more about the Disney+ military discount on the official Help page.

Is there a Disney+ student discount?

Unfortunately there is no official student discount for Disney+ directly though the platform. But if you search around the web, you’ll find coupons abound. Of course, as with all online “coupons” YMMV.

Students looking for a legit streaming discount should consider Paramount+, Peacock, and Prime Video.

Is there a Disney+ discount for AARP members?

No.

Seniors pay the same as everyone else for Disney+. AARP members should check out Paramount+ for a streaming discount.

Is there a Disney+ teachers discount?

No.

Teachers looking for a discount should check out Peacock.

Is there a Disney+ discount for First Responders?

No.

Peacock has a discount for first responders.

Final thoughts on the Disney+ free trial

The official free trial for Disney+ no longer exists and there are very few ways to get one through third parties. It’s now one of the most elusive free trials in streaming.

Granted, a free week won’t tell you much about the content on Disney+. With some of the most iconic brands and franchises in entertainment history, it’s one of the best on-demand libraries out there, if not the best.

But a free trial lets you try out the features, user interface, and other aspects of a streaming service. You can read more about all of that in our Disney Review, but it’s too bad that Disney did away with its try-before-you-buy option.
