Even though football season is over and there are no more NFL games on CBS to watch—except a little game called the Super Bowl—there’s still a “mountain of sports” to watch on Paramount+. And movies and TV shows, of course.

What does the Paramount+ free trial include?
What you get with your Paramount+ free trial depends on which plan you sign up for.
You can get either the Paramount+ Essential plan or Paramount+ with Showtime free for 7 days. So it obviously makes sense to sign up for the ad-free plan that also gets you a live feed of your local CBS affiliate, more sports, 4K streaming, and Showtime.
You can always downgrade to the ad-supported Essential plan if you decide to keep the service but only want to pay half the price.

Does the Paramount+ free trial require a credit card?
No.
But it requires payment information. Which is par for the course for the majority of free trials nowadays.
Furthermore, 4 of the 5 accepted payment types at Paramount+ are credit cards. The fifth is PayPal. And Paramount+ only accepts valid US credit cards and US PayPal accounts as payment.
Other ways to pay for Paramount+
You can expand your payment options by subscribing to Paramount+ through Apple’s App Store, Roku, or as an Amazon Prime Channel. That means you can pay with a wider range of credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and even SNAP EBT cards (via Amazon) in select states.
Another payment option that Paramount+ plus accepts is Paramount+ gift cards. HOWEVER, while you can use a gift card to start either Paramount+ plan, you don’t get the free trial when doing so. That means you can NOT use a Paramount+ gift card to get a free trial.
Can you get the Paramount+ free trial more than once?
Some streaming services—like Prime Video, MGM+, and Hulu—let you enjoy their free trial more than once. But Paramount+ is not one of them. You can only get a Paramount+ free trial one time (per credit card).
However, signing up through Prime Video Channels, Roku, Apple TV, and Walmart+ are considered different free trials. So you can actually get almost 3 months of Paramount+ for free with those 5 free trials. It seems like more trouble than its worth, but the option is there.
How to cancel your Paramount+ free trial
Cancelling your Paramount+ free trial depends on how you signed up for it.
You’ll need to use the platform and/or device you signed up on. These include Paramount+ directly through the website, using an Apple or Android device, Fire TV, or Roku, and channels via Prime Video and Apple TV.
Visit the Paramount+ cancellation page for complete details on each method.
Can you cancel your Paramount+ free trial before it ends?
Yes.
If you’re wondering what happens when you cancel your Paramount+ free trial, don’t worry. You can keep watching it until your 7 days are up.
Other ways to get Paramount+ for free
There are a few more ways to get Paramount+ for free and the free trial periods range from 24 hours to 5 months. If you know of any other ways to get Paramount+ for free, please drop us a comment below or a private note through our Contact Page.
And we should note that the word free gets thrown out rather, uh, freely nowadays. So some of these methods are “less free” than the others.
Get Paramount+ free with a Samsung TV
Samsung “Your Choice” Club members who buy a qualifying Samsung TV get can the Paramount+ with Showtime plan free or 5 months. Existing Paramount+ subscribers are also eligible for the deal, but you need to cancel your existing subscription first.
To see which Samsung TV models are eligible as well as all the other details, visit the Paramount+ Samsung Your Choice Offer page.
Get Paramount+ free with Walmart+
The Paramount+ Essential plan is included with every Walmart+ membership. The service is basically like Amazon Prime, offering Walmart shoppers perks like free delivery from your store, member fuel prices, and more.
It’s currently $12.95/month or $98/year, but there is a 30-day free trial, which means you get a 30-day Paramount+ free trial. If you regularly shop at Walmart and don’t mind commercials, it’s a no-brainer. But keep in mind you can NOT upgrade to the Paramount+ with Showtime plan at a discounted rate.
Get Paramount+ free with Delta
This isn’t really a Paramount+ free trial per se, but it’s worth mentioning. Delta SkyMiles members can get the Paramount+ with Showtime plan for free for 24 hours every time they fly with Delta. It kicks in after the flight takes off and is a continuous 24 hours (ie: you can’t “pause” it).
There are a half-dozen conditions you need to meet, which you can read more about on Paramount+’s Delta Sync Exclusive page. But if you’re flying Delta and a SkyMiles member, it’s worth taking advantage of.
Get Paramount+ free with DirecTV Stream
Other than coughing up the cash for today’s insanely overpriced airfares, this is the most expensive way to get Paramount+ for free. And it’s not really free, even though the folks at DirecTV like to say it is.
The deal is this: you get “free” access to the Paramount+ app when you sign up for the Paramount+ with Showtime East plan on DirecTV Stream. (There are similar offers for DirecTV satellite and U-Verse.)
It costs the same price as getting the plan directly through Paramount+, but also includes 6 Showtime multiplex channels. Granted, these channels mostly have shows in the Paramount+ library that you can watch on-demand any time you want.
It really only makes sense if you’re already a DirecTV Stream subscriber or in the market for a live TV streaming service.
How to pay less for Paramount+
Similar to how Amazon has a few ways to pay less for Prime Video, Paramount+ has some options as well.
Sign up as a student
Students get a 25% discount off the Paramount+ Essential plan. Unfortunately there’s no similar option for the Paramount+ with Showtime plan. But they should be studying anyway, right?
Who counts as a student? Paramount+ is partnered with SheerID. This means that the Paramount+ “student discount offer is valid for college/university students who can provide proof of current enrollment through SheerID.” Complete details are available on the Paramount+ Student Discount page.
Sign up as an AARP member
Eligible AARP members get a 10% discount off any Paramount+ plan for as long as they’re subscribed. They’re not restricted to just the Essential like students are, but they don’t have homework due tomorrow, do they? Visit the Paramount+ AARP special offer page for full details.
Whether you’re a student, an AARP member, or just someone in the market for a new streaming service, the 7-day Paramount+ free trial is worth checking out. Read our in-depth Paramount+ Review for more info—or simply follow the banner below to get streaming!
