Like most streaming services, Peacock was part of The Great Streamflation Crisis of 2023. But even after both Peacock price plans got an increase, it remains one of the best deals in streaming.
Read on for all you need to know about how much Peacock costs in 2024.

Just tell me the price! How much does Peacock cost?
$6 or $12 a month.
To be specific, Peacock’s 2 plans are $5.99 and $11.99/month, but we’ll dig into those below.
When did Peacock prices go up?
There were 3 Peacock pricing tiers when it launched on July 15, 2020.
One of them was completely free and it claimed to have 10,000 hours of content. A lot of it was first episodes of TV series seemingly designed to entice you into a paid subscription, but there were movies to watch as well. Most were older movies, and there was a lot of straight-to-video fare, but it’s hard to argue with free.
Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, Peacock scrapped its free plan in early 2023.
The other 2 tiers were paid plans and they cost $4.99 and $9.99/month.
The 2 paid plans got price hikes in August 2023. The Premium plan went up a dollar to $5.99 while the Premium Plus plan went up $2 to $11.99/month. However, both plans are still among the cheapest paid on-demand streaming options around.
Peacock price plans
Keeping it simple, there are 2 Peacock price price plans to choose from—which is how it should be. Unless it’s offering a bundle with other services (like Disney+ does with Hulu and ESPN+), an on-demand streaming service shouldn’t have more than that.
(Netflix and Max are the only on-demand streaming services with 3 plans, and both exist only so they can charge customers extra for 4K video quality.)
Premium: $5.99/month
- 80,000+ hours of TV, movies, and sports
- 50+ linear channels
- Live sports and events, and current NBC and Bravo shows
- Ads: Yes
- User profiles: 6
- Downloads: No
- Simultaneous screens: 3
- Quality: Up to 4K, HDR10, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Dolby 5.1
- Annual Plan: $59.99/year
Premium Plus: $11.99/month
- Everything in Premium
- Local NBC channel live 24/7
- Ads: No
- User profiles: 6
- Downloads: Yes (select content)
- Simultaneous screens: 3
- Quality: Up to 4K, HDR10, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Dolby 5.1
- Annual Plan: $119.99/year
And by the way, students ($1.99), teachers ($2.99), and first responders ($1.99) all get Peacock Premium at a discounted price of up to 67% off. (There are no discounts on the Premium Plus plan.)
Does Peacock have an annual plan?
Yes.
Unlike Netflix, which has no annual plan, or Hulu and Disney+, which only have annual plans for certain price tiers, both Peacock price plans offer an option to pay for a year up front—and get a discount that works out to about 2 months free.

Is there a Peacock free trial?
No.
In recent years many streaming services stopped offering free trials, and Peacock is unfortunately no exception.
Peacock and Paramount+ are a bit like the 2-peas-in-a-pod of streaming services, but free trials is where they differ. While you can still get a Paramount+ free trial simply and directly through the service, the Peacock free trial was discontinued in 2021. Peacock also had a completely free tier, but it put an end to it in early 2023.
However, there are still ways to get Peacock for free, including with cable and internet subscriptions like Xfinity and Spectrum, as well as with an Instacart+ subscription.
How do Peacock prices compare to other streaming services?
Peacock pricing may have gotten a bump in 2023, but it’s still one of the best-priced on-demand streaming services around.
Among the major streaming services, the Peacock Premium tier is tied with Paramount+ for being the lowest-priced ad-supported streaming service available. (There are free streaming services, of course, but we mean in comparison to paid services.)
The ad-free tier, Peacock Premium Plus, is priced higher than only ad-free plan of a major streaming service (Apple TV+) and it costs $2–6/month less than the ad-free plans for Disney+, Netflix, Max, and Hulu. Unsurprisingly, it’s the exact same price as Paramount+.
The table below shows how Peacock compares to other popular on-demand steaming services in terms of pricing, simultaneous screens, video quality, and free trial length and availability.

Is Peacock worth it?
With so many options out there for streaming movies and TV, is Peacock worth it compared to the competition?
Both Peacock price plans include original TV shows, major theatrical releases, news, and live sports.
The ad-supported Peacock Premium pan is the tied with Paramount+ as the lowest-priced option on the market. And it gets even cheaper if you subscribe to the annual plan. None of the live sports are locked behind the higher-priced plan, which isn’t the case with Paramount+.
The Premium Plus plan is likewise one of the industry’s best values, although not quite as good as the other pea in the pod (Paramount+). You get a live feed of your local NBC affiliate, no commercials, and the ability to download select titles.
If you’re trying to decided between Peacock or Paramount+, it comes down to which sports and shows you want to watch. However, if you don’t mind commercials in your movies and TV shows, both ad-supported plans cost the same as one ad-free plan.
