One of the bright spots of the so-called “2023 Streamflation Crisis” was that MGM+ price plans made it through the year unscathed.

However, Amazon’s newest streaming platform couldn’t escape “inflation” forever. But even after the dollar price hike, it remains the lowest-priced ad-free streaming service out there.

Read on for all you need to know about how much MGM+ costs in 2024.

Just tell me the price! How much does MGM+ cost?

$7/month.

To be specific, it’s $6.99/month. And it’s even cheaper if you sign up 3 months or a year.

When did the price of MGM+ go up?

A week after Amazon introduced ads to Prime Video (and charged $3/month to remove them), it bumped up the price of MGM+.

Amazon officially increased MGM+ pricing in February 2024.

The MGM+ monthly plan went up a buck, from $5.99 to $6.99, while the annual plan got a $9 price hike, bumping it up from $49.99 to $58.99/year.

That’s not so bad. And better than all of the other price hikes around the industry.

MGM+ price plans

The good news is that MGM+ is still completely ad-free. Like Apple TV+ and Starz, MGM+ is one of the few remaining streaming services that keeps things simple with a single, ad-free plan. That means all you need to decided on is how long to sign up for.

But that doesn’t mean everyone pays the same price, because you can pay less for MGM+ if you sign up for a longer term. (See the next section for more on that.)

Here are the complete details for the MGM+ price plan:

MGM+: $6.99/month

  • Complete access to MGM+'s commercial-free, on-demand library
  • Feeds for the 4 MGM+ linear channels available to TV subscribers
  • Ads: No
  • User profiles: 1
  • Downloads: Yes (expire after 7 days)
  • Simultaneous screens: 4
  • Quality: 1080p HD
  • Annual Plan: $58.99/year

Does MGM+ have an annual plan?

Yes.

As noted above, there is an annual for MGM+. But it’s worth noting that the MGM+ website labels its Yearly Plan as a Limited-Time Offer. However, it’s also worth noting that it’s had this “limited time offer” forever. (So when it ends is anyone’s guess.)

Paying for a year of MGM+ in advance costs $58.99 for the whole year. That works out to $4.92/month, which is the cheapest ad-free streaming service plan you’ll find.

There’s also a 3-Month MGM+ price plan that lets you pay quarterly. That’s even rarer than the semi-annual plans some streaming services—such as Starz—offer. However, it’s only 10% off the monthly price, so the Yearly Plan still represents a greater savings over time.

Like the Yearly Plan, the 3-Month Plan also (sometimes) gets labeled as a Limited-Time Offer on the MGM+ website.

Is there an MGM+ free trial?

Yes!

MGM+ is one of the few streaming services that still offers a free trial directly.

You can get a 7-day free trial on the mgmplus.com, through Amazon Prime Video Channels, or via the MGM+ apps on supported devices. Keep in mind you’ll need a verified payment method in order to get the free trial directly.

You can also get an MGM+ free trial through 3rd parties like Roku and more. Check out the link below for ways to get MGM+ for free (even up to 6 months!) and how to pay less or the streaming service. The accepted payment methods and requirements vary depending on the service.

How do MGM+ prices compare to other streaming services?

Even though MGM+ raised its prices in 2024, it’s still the cheapest ad-free streaming plan available.

MGM+ costs the same as Netflix’s with ads plan, and only a buck more per month than the ad-supported plans for Paramount+ and Peacock. And except for AMC+, the singular ad-free MGM+ price plan is cheaper than every other major streaming service plan with ads.

Granted, the MGM+ library is not as large or diverse as most of the other streaming services.

Check out the table below to see how MGM+ compares to other popular on-demand steaming services in terms of pricing, and key features like downloads, simultaneous streams, and more.

Is MGM+ worth it?

If you’re in the market for movies, then MGM+ is a great, low-cost option. With the annual plan, it’s less than 5 bucks a month, which is more or the price of digitally renting a single movie. And not a new release!

The other big selling point is that it’s completely ad-free.

The downside for some movie lovers—particularly home theater enthusiasts—is that MGM+ doesn’t deliver 4K video quality. And that’s going to be a deal breaker for some people.

But is MGM+ worth it for less than $5/month? It is if you can find one movie a month to watch, and that won’t be too hard with its on-demand library of films.
