Disney+, Peacock, and Max all put their free trials to bed. But Apple held strong. The world’s most valuable brand still offers a free trial for its Apple TV+ streaming service.

Does Apple TV+ have a free trial in 2024?

Yes.

Apple TV+ still has a standard 7-day free trial that you can sign up for directly through the app or website. There are also other ways to get a longer free trial, both through Apple and third parties.

If you got the standard free trial directly from Apple, canceling it simply depends on the device you used.

Well, you can. But you’ll immediately lose access to Apple TV+. It’s not like some other services that let you cancel but still watch until the end of your trial period.

The easiest and most direct way to snag an Apple TV+ free trial is to go to tv.apple.com and click on Accept Free Trial. It’s hard to miss as you’ll find it popping up in numerous places.

You’ll need to enter your payment details so be sure to set a reminder for the day before your trials ends. You’ll be charged for a full month if you don’t cancel in time. Also, you can’t cancel in advance like with some free trials. You lose access as soon as you click cancel.

Apple has been steadily expanding its library of top-notch original content, so a week won’t be long enough to watch much. It’ll give you a taste, but there are longer trials to take advantage of. Especially if you’re an Apple device user.

Get 3 months free when buying an Apple product

While the days of getting a full year of Apple TV+ for free are gone, you can still get 3 months for free. That’s enough time to watch every episode of The Morning Show, For All Mankind, and Slow Horses—or another 10 seasons of whatever floats your boat.

The free trial is easy enough to get. When activating your news Apple device, you should get a message asking you to redeem your Apple TV+ promotion.

Depending on your device, you’ll see a button or tab asking you to Sign In, Sign Up, or Start Free Trial. Sign in with your Apple ID or create a new one and you’re good to go.

If that’s not the issue, make sure you or a family member hasn’t already redeemed the offer. Keep in mind that you need to redeem the offer within 90 days of activating your device. After that the offer expires.

Get 1 month free with Apple One

Apple One is the tech giant’s service bundle that lets you add up to 6 subscriptions in a single package at a reduced price. The big catch here is that you need an Apple device to sign up for Apple One. That means a Mac, iPhone, iPad, or 7th gen iPod.

On mobile devices go to Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions, then tap Apple One and choose a plan. On a Mac the offer is under System Preferences > Apple ID > Media & Purchases.

The Apple One free trial includes 1-month free of services you’d don’t already have.

Furthermore, if the Apple One plan you choose costs less than your current subscriptions, you’re not eligible for a free trial. This is, according to Apple, “so that you can immediately start saving money.”

Best Buy is offering 3 months of Apple TV+ for free to new and eligible returning subscribers.

So what’s the catch? What do you need to buy or how much do you need to spend?

Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. There’s no catch. Just go to the page on Best Buy’s website, click Add to Cart, then head to the checkout.

This is arguably the best free trial in streaming right now. However, there are some people complaining they couldn’t activate the deal, so your mileage may vary.

Get 3 months free with PlayStation

If you’ve got a Sony PlayStation 4 or 5, you can get Apple TV+ free for 3 months.

To get an Apple TV+ free trial on your Sony PlayStation, you need the following:

  • A PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 console
  • An account for PlayStation Network
  • An Apple ID

Sorry, if you’re still hooked up to a PS3, you’re out of luck.

Get 6 months free with T-Mobile

T-Mobile will give you 6 months of Apple TV+ for free when sign up for the basic Go5G plan.

However, if you sign up for a higher-level plan you can get an Apple TV+ subscription included for as long as your plan is active. Read the next section for more on that below.

Does Roku have an Apple TV+ free trial?

Roku used to offer a free trial for Apple TV+, but that deal is no longer available in 2024.

Apple One is the best way to pay less for Apple TV+, but it requires spending more. So it only makes sense if you’re using Apple other digital services, like Apple Music, iCloud, and Apple Fitness+.

The cheapest Apple One tier is the Individual plan for $19.95/month and it saves you $9/month across 4 services.

Get Apple TV+ with T-Mobile

If you’re in the market for a new cellphone plan, Apple TV+ is included with T-Mobile’s Go5G plans.

You get a full Apple TV+ subscription with the Go5G Next and Go5G Plus plans or a 6-month Apple TV+ free trial with the basic Go5G plan.

Is there an Apple TV+ student discount?

While there’s not an actual student discount for Apple TV+, the streaming service is included with the Apple Music Student Plan at no extra cost. And even better, the Apple Music student subscription is only $5.99/month, which is (a lot) cheaper than an Apple TV+ subscription.

Is there an Apple TV+ discount for AARP members?

Unlike Paramount+, there is no Apple TV+ discount for AARP members. There is also no First Responders discount and the military discount only applies to Apple products, not services.
