How much does Disney+ cost?
$8/month.
More specifically, it’s $7.99/month. And that’s for the cheapest plan because there are now multiple Disney+ price plans to choose from, all the way up to $25/month.
Did Disney+’s price go up?
Disney+ launched with a single plan in 2019 that cost $6.99/month. Two years later, that plan went up a buck to $7.99/month.
But it was in December 2022 that the biggest changes (to date) took place with Disney+ price plans. The $7.99/month offering got ads injected into it and the ad-free plan (which is what everyone had been watching) jumped up to $10.99/month. (There are more than just those 2 Disney+ price plans, as we cover in detail below.)
Disney+ is increased prices again in October 2023, with price hikes of $2, $3, $4, and $5/month across the range of Disney+ price plans.

When counting the Disney Bundles there are a total of 6 Disney+ price plans to choose from. These plans can be ordered through either Disney+ or Hulu, except for the Disney Bundle Duo Premium plan. For some reason it’s only available through Disney+.

Legacy Disney Bundle: $18.99/month
The Legacy Disney Bundle is no longer available to purchase. It is only for existing subscribers to the plan. If you have and you like it, hang on to it. Because once you cancel or change it, you can’t get it back.
However… it actually is still available. But you need to sign up for a Verizon plan (see below) in order to get it.
Does Disney+ have an annual plan?
Yes.
But unfortunately paying annually is only an option with 1 of the 6 Disney+ price plans. The Disney+ Premium annual plan equates to about 2 months free. So if you don’t want to watch ads—or Hulu or ESPN+—it’s definitely the best way to go.
Is there a Disney+ free trial?
No.
Despite what clickbait around the internet claims, there is no free trial for Disney+. While there was a 7-day free trial for Disney+ when it launched, it ended way back in 2020.
You can watch select content on Disney+ for free on Delta Airlines flights. But that’s not really free is it? And you’re not actually getting Disney+.
During 2022 and into 2023, new Verizon subscribers could get Disney+ free for 6 months. But that’s also now over.
The closest you can get to getting Disney+ for free—or at least at a steep discount—is still through Verizon. The Unlimited Plus plan gets you a Disney Bundle for $10/line. And the bundle it gets you is the Legacy Disney Bundle that is no longer available to purchase or switch into on Disney+.
As noted above the Legacy Disney Bundle costs $18.99/month and includes Disney+ (No Ads), Hulu (With Ads), and ESPN+ (With Ads). So you get it for 9 bucks less. And seeing as it now costs $13.99/month to get Disney+ without ads, getting it for $10/month plus Hulu and ESPN+ is not too shabby.
How does Disney+’s price compare to other streaming services?
There are plenty of free ad-supported TV streaming services (FASTs) out there that are obviously cheaper (ie: free). But among paid streaming services Disney+ price plans sit in the middle of the pack both for its ad-supported plan and its ad-free plan.
The savings really kick in when you bundle it with Hulu and ESPN+.
Here’s how the (non-bundled) Disney+ price plans stack up against other streaming services as of February 2024.

Is Disney+ worth it?
The good thing about Disney+ is that there’s no mystery to it—you know exactly what you’re getting. If you’re a fan of any of the studios and IPs that Disney owns, you’re going to love the content. And seeing as Disney pulled most of its content from other platforms, this is the only place you can watch it.
But after its 2023 price hikes is Disney+ still worth it in terms of price?
Yes.
Comparatively speaking.
It’s still cheaper than ad-free plans from Hulu, Max, and Netflix, and only $2/month more than Paramount+, Peacock, and Prime Video.
Disney+ is the best on-demand streaming service for families and fans of Disney-owned IPs, and even sports fans. Even the most expensive Premium plan is worth it if you’ve got sports fans in the family.
But the 25% price hikes in 2023 seemed designed to nudge people toward ad-supported plans. The Trio Basic is still worth it at $15/month, but the Duo Premium ($20) and Trio Premium ($25) plans are some of the most expensive plans around. Granted, the Trio gets you a much greater variety of content than the most expensive plans from Max and Netflix.
At least you still don’t need to pay extra for 4K, can watch 4 streams at once, and get the best on-demand library in the universe.
