What devices are compatible with Paramount+?
You won’t find the widest range of compatible devices for Paramount+, but the selection gets the job done for most people. While Paramount+ supports all of the most popular devices, you won’t find an app for smart home devices like Google Nest or Alexa Show.
But if you’re one of the few people who bought a Facebook Portal, you can watch it on that! Here’s a list of the current Paramount+ supported devices:
- Streaming devices: Apple TV, Chromecast, DirecTV Gemini, Fire TV, Roku
- Cable & satellite boxes: Cox Contour, Xfinity, Xumo Stream Box
- Phones & tablets: Android, iPhone, iPad
- Smart TVs: Android TV, Portal TV, LG, Samsung, Vizio, VIDAA (Hisense)
- Smart home devices: Facebook Portal (defunct)
- Game consoles: PlayStation, Xbox
- Desktops & laptops: Windows, Mac, all major browsers
- Blu-ray players: None
It’s always good to check the official Help page on Paramount+ Support Devices for the most up-to-date list and check for specific device models and generations.

What devices can download movies and shows on Paramount+?
While the number Paramount+ compatible devices is modest but adequate, the list of devices you can use to watch offline is about as short as it can get. you only options are iOS and Android mobile devices:
- Android tablets/phones (Android 5+)
- iPhone/iPad (iOS 14+)
That means you won’t be able to able to download movies and TV shows to your PC or laptop, even with the Paramount+ Windows app installed. That’s not uncommon among streaming services, although Netflix lets you download to its Windows and Chromebook apps.
How many Paramount+ devices can you download to at once?
Unlimited.
Score another point for the streamer when it comes to device limits for downloads. That’s because there isn’t one when it comes to how many of your devices can have Paramount+ downloads on them.
Just keep in mind that you can only have 25 downloads at once. They automatically expire after 30 days, but if you’ve got them spread out over a lot of devices you could find yourself in a bind if you don’t keep track of where they are.

Which devices support Paramount+ 4K streaming?
While Paramount+ scores points for unlimited devices and non-paywalled simultaneous stream limits, it loses points for 4K streaming. It’s one of only 3 on-demand streaming services that makes you pay more for 4K video quality.
So first you’ll need the Paramount+ with Showtime plan. Then you’ll need a high-speed internet connection of 25+ Mbps and a 4K UHD screen that supports HDR10 or Dolby Vision.
Supported 4K, HDR10, and Dolby Vision streaming devices include:
- Media players: Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku
- Smart TVs: Google TV, Samsung

How to watch Paramount+ on an unsupported device
If you get an error message saying that your device is not supported by Paramount+, don’t panic.
Yet.
The first thing to do is follow the old tech support adage: “Did you try turning it off and on?”
On a mobile or streaming device that means force stopping the app and clearing the cache. And then restarting the app.
But if your device straight up doesn’t support the app—to the point you can’t even install it—there is another course of action you can try. If you have an Android device.
Just look for the Paramount+ APK online. (APK basically means the install file for Android apps.) Some of the most reputable APK marketplaces are APK Mirror, APK Pure, and Aptoide. Simply go to one of them and look for the version of Paramount+ you need.
NOTE: This is a workaround and not guaranteed to work or even guaranteed to be safe. So install APKs at your own risk.
Which Paramount+ plan is best for you?
If you’re looking for live sports and don’t mind commercials with your movies and TV shows, the Paramount+ Essential plan remains one of the most affordable streaming plans on the market.
But if you want to download TV shows and movies and watch 4K video quality, you’ll need the Paramount+ with Showtime plan. It also ditches the ads and gives you a live feed of your local CBS station. Not a bad deal for $12/month, especially when compared to other streaming services.
