What does the Hulu + Live TV channel lineup look like in 2024?

Subscribing to a live TV streaming service is all about the channels. Obviously price is a major deciding factor. But if a streamer doesn’t have the channels you want to watch, you’re not going to waste your time or money on it.

The Big 4 broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX) are typically what come to mind when saying “live TV”. And while the TV landscape has changed a lot in the past decade or so, the Big 4 over-the-air (OTA) networks still hold most rights for live TV events like sports and awards shows.

Hulu + Live TV channels in the base package

Your channels will vary depending on where you live, but Hulu states that you’ll get at least 90 of them wherever you happen to be.

Hulu + Live TV has both traditional broadcast networks and cable television networks. The first are networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC, while cable includes channels like A&E, BET, and CNN. Broadcast networks have local affiliates while cable networks do not, and have full control over their programming 24/7.

The local affiliate you watch is of course dependent on your location and all markets don’t have all stations when it comes to not being one of The Big 4 networks. This is in large part due to local affiliates gaining the power to opt-out of deals between networks and live TV streaming services (called MVPDs or Multichannel Video Programming Distributors in the biz).

Before you sign up, be sure to enter your zip code on Hulu to make sure its got all of the Hulu + Live TV channels you want to watch.

Sports Add-On: $9.99/month

The sports bundle doesn’t include many “big draw” channels, but it does have NFL RedZone and Tennis Channel, which are worth 10 bucks to a lot of people.

  • NFL RedZone
  • FanDuel TV
  • FanDuel Racing
  • MAVTV
  • Outdoor Channel
  • Sportsman Channel
  • Tennis Channel

Unlimited Screens: $9.99/month

What’s the point of having all those Hulu + Live TV channels if you can’t watch them? And that’s a distinct possibility in a family household when you only get a paltry 2 simultaneous screens to watch.

Fortunately the good people at Hulu will let you pay another $10/month for unlimited screens. You can watch as many as you want home plus 3 mobile devices that are not on your home network.

Keep in mind that premium network restrictions apply to screen limits. So if you order premium networks through Hulu, don’t expect to be able to watch Max or Paramount+ on 15 screens at once.

Conclusion: Is Hulu + Live TV worth it?

Hulu + Live TV has all the major broadcast networks and a wide selection of cable TV channels as well. With its inclusion of Hulu (on-demand), Disney+, and ESPN+, Hulu + Live TV is the best streaming deal for families.

It’s not great if you’re looking for Spanish TV and Fubo is a probably a better choice for die-hard sports fans. But Hulu + Live TV is still a strong contender worth checking out.
