Without wondering if the info’s out of date, these Hulu prices and plan details are current as of May 2024.

How much does Hulu cost?
$8 to $18 per month.
Specifically it’s $7.99/month for the cheaper plan and $17.99/month for the more expensive ad-free plan.
But there are many more plans to choose from at a range of prices when taking into account the Disney Bundles or the Hulu + Live TV service.
Did Hulu’s price go up?
Yes, of course.
Except for that time in 2019 when Hulu actually lowered its price, the cost of a Hulu subscription has continued to climb.
Hulu raised the price of the Hulu with Ads plan a buck in October 2022, raising it from $6.99/month to $7.99/month. At the same time, it bumped the Hulu (No Ads) plans up 2 bucks, from $12.99/month to $14.99/month.
And while the price of the ad-supported plan has remained unchanged since then—because Hulu makes money from advertisers and subscribers—the ad-free plan got another price hike.
And this time it went up even more.
In October 2023, the Hulu (No Ads) plan increased $3 a month, from $14.99 to $17.99/month. That means in just a few days more than a year, Hulu went from $12.99 to $17.99 per month—which is a 38.5% increase.

When including the Disney Bundles and the Student plan, there are a total of 7 Hulu price plans to choose from.
The 2 Hulu plans are available through Hulu, but you can order the Disney Bundles through either Hulu or Disney+. HOWEVER, the Disney Bundle Duo Premium plan is only available through Disney+. 🤔

The Legacy Disney Bundle is no longer available to purchase. It is only for existing subscribers to the plan. If you have and you like it, hang on to it. Because once you cancel or change it, you can't get it back.
Does Hulu have an annual plan?
Yes.
But NOT for all plans.
You can only pay yearly—and get a couple of months for free—with Hulu’s ad-supported plan. The Hulu ad-free plan and all of the Disney Bundles are only available on a monthly basis.
Is there a Hulu free trial?
Yes.
Hulu has one of the best free trials in the streaming industry. You can try Hulu free for 30 days, which is tied with the Prime Video free trial for the industry’s longest that’s offered directly.
You can choose either of the Hulu price plans when signing up for your free trial, so it obviously makes sense to try the ad-free plan. Just be sure to downgrade to the ad-supported plan before your trial is up, if that’s the plan you want.

How does Hulu’s price compare to other streaming services?
There are a lot of free streaming services out there, but compared to paid streaming services, Hulu price plans range from slightly higher than average to being among the most expensive.
Hulu’s ad-supported plan is cheaper than the ad-supported plans for Max and Prime Video, the same price as Disney+ with ads, and more expensive than everything else.
On the other hand, Hulu’s ad-free plan is one of the most expensive on-demand streaming plans around.
It’s a full $2/month more expensive than Max’s ad-free plan. The only thing keeping it from being the most expensive on-demand streaming service on the market are the 2 “premium” plans by Netflix and Max that paywall 4K video quality.

Is Hulu worth it?
Hulu’s key strength is in producing original limited series, so it’s worth subscribing to when something catches your interest. But a full-year subscription probably isn’t worth it. (Especially as there’s no ad-free annual plan for Hulu.)
The Hulu With Ads plan is still an affordable option if you don’t mind ads. It’s only $2/month more than the ad-supported plans for Paramount+, Peacock, and a buck more than Netflix.
But the Hulu (No Ads) plan is terribly overpriced. A much better value is getting the Disney Bundle Duo Premium for $2/month more and getting Disney+ ad-free as well.
