When it comes to producing original content, Netflix is by far the leader among streaming services. With studio partnerships around the globe, the list of new series on Netflix can get out of hand. Therefore this list is focused on English-language shows, which means they’re new shows from the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and the like.

The release schedules on whether episodes will drop all at once to binge or come out weekly have yet to be confirmed for a lot of shows, so we’ve noted that as such. The same goes for some release dates. Those that are not officially confirmed are marked with an asterisk.

New series on Netflix confirmed for 2024

Fool Me Once

Based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name, Fool Me Once follows a disgraced ex-military pilot whose husband is murdered during a supposed attempted robbery — 6 months after her sister suffers the same tragic fate.

While police investigate her, she undertakes an investigation of her own and uncovers a decades-old conspiracy with a body count.

This is the first of many new series on Netflix that is a novel adaptation. So you might want to schedule some extra reading time, if you like to read the book before watching the movie or show.

With a cast that includes sci-fi royalty Mark Hamill (as Skeletor) and William Shatner, this limited series is a follow-up to 2022’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

There’s no word yet exactly on the release schedule, or even the exact number of episodes, but the previous series was 10 episodes split into 2 parts. It makes sense that this would follow a similar format.

One Day

Based on the novel of the same name by David Nicholls, One Day follows the friendship of Dexter and Emma on every St Swithin’s Day over the course of 20 years.

If you’re wondering What is St Swithin’s Day?, you’re not alone. To save you a web search, it falls on July 15th and the sun or rain on that day dictates the weather for the next 40 days. (And in case you’re wondering, no, there is no historical or meteorological evidence to support this notion whatsoever.)

We’ve read conflicting reports about the 30-minute episodes dropping weekly as well as them being released all at once. As of now Netflix has not offered an official release schedule, although the premiere date is confirmed.

  • Release Date: February 8, 2024
  • Format: Scripted episodic series
  • Number of episodes: 14
  • Release Schedule: TBA
  • Genre(s): Drama, Romance, Comedy

Avatar: The Last Airbender

As the 4th series under The Last Airbender banner, the big-budget Avatar: The Last Airbender is a testament to the franchise’s staying power and appeal, and the timelessness of the story.

Produced by Nickelodeon and Rideback, the new Netflix series is a remake of the animated series of the same name that ran for 3 seasons, from 2005 to 2008.

  • Release Date: February 22, 2024

Einstein and the Bomb

With a blend of archival footage and dramatizations, Netflix’s historical documentary looks at the personal life of Albert Einstein as well as key moments in his scientific career. According to Military.com the series is “light on the science and heavy on the womanizing and family drama.” (That sounds about right for Netflix.)

  • Release Date: February 19, 2024
  • Format: Scripted episodic series
  • Number of episodes: 10
  • Release Schedule: TBA
  • Genre(s): Documentary, History, Biography

The Gentlemen

Created by Guy Ritchie and based on his 2019 movie of the same name, The Gentlemen is actually a spin-off sequel from the movie. Starring Theo James, it focuses on fresh cast of characters, so don’t expect to see the old gang stomping around.

Surprisingly, The Gentlemen (film version) is not currently available on any streaming services. However, it is available for digital rental at all the usual suspects.

Do you need to watch The Gentlemen movie before watching the series? Unlikely. But should you? Of course. It’s a Guy Ritchie film. And if you don’t like Guy Ritchie flicks, why would you bother watching this series?
