There isn’t an extensive list of original new series on AMC+ coming out in 2024, but one die-hard audience in particular finally gets a show they’ve been patiently waiting for.

AMC is home to one of the most successful TV franchises of all time β€” The Walking Dead β€” and the newest installment is out this year. Next month in fact.

But what other new shows on AMC+ are being released this year? We’ve got the complete (though currently rather short) list below with all of the trailers available at this time.

Confirmed new series on AMC+

Monsieur Spade

Clive Owen stars as Dashiell Hammett’s best-known character β€” most famously portrayed by Humphrey Bogart in The Maltese Falcon β€” private detective Sam Spade.

Written and directed by Scott Frank (The Queen’s Gambit) and co-created Tom Fontana, who created HBO’s Oz, the neo-noir series takes place in 1963 and Sam Spade has retired to the idyllic South of France.

After HBO unceremoniously and egregiously cancelled Perry Mason last year, Monsieur Spade is precisely who fans of mysteries and crime thrillers need right now.

  • Release Date: January 14, 2024
  • Format: Scripted series
  • Number of episodes: 6
  • Release Schedule: Weekly
  • Genre(s): Mystery, Neo-noir, Crime drama, Period drama

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live

Rick Grimes and Michonne are finally back β€” and reunited!

The 6th TWD spin-off β€” and 7th series in the franchise overall β€” The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is intended to be a limited series. (Let’s see about that.)

With a reported budget of almost $83 million (nearly $14 million per episode), it’s not just the long wait that has expectations riding high on the success of the newest Walking Dead series. It’s not up there with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power‘s $58 million per episode price tag , but it’s still more than 4x what the original series cost per episode. (The other recent TWD spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City, cost a reported $12 million per episode.)

The Ones Who Live is also the most highly anticipated new series on AMC+ this year.

Do you need to watch The Walking Dead original series in order to enjoy the new show?

Probably, yes.

But don’t worry, you needn’t watch all 252 hours of the franchise. There’s no need to watch Fear the Walking Dead or World Beyond. So you just need to find 129 hours and 48 minutes to watch the original series.

  • Release Date: February 25, 2024
  • Format: Limited series
  • Number of episodes: 6
  • Release Schedule: Weekly
  • Genre(s): Horror, Drama, Zombie apocalypse

Orphan Black: Echoes

Set in the same universe as the original Orphan Black series, a group of women in 2052 who come together as they try to solve the mystery of their identities.

A co-production between Boat Rocker Media and AMC, Orphan Black: Echoes was already released in Australia on Stan in November 2023. The official release date for America has yet to been confirmed, but it will be in 2024.

  • Release Date: TBA 2024
  • Format: Scripted series
  • Number of episodes: 10
  • Release Schedule: TBA

Nautilus

Trailer unavailable for Nautilus -Shazad Latif at the helm of the eponymous submarine - New Series on AMC+ in 2024

Based on the Jules Verne classic Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, the new Nautilus TV series is a live-action origin story starring Shazad Latif as Captain Nemo.

Nautilus was originally set to stream on Disney+, but AMC Networks picked it up after a cost-cutting garage sale of sorts at the House of Mouse. And thus it suddenly became a new series on AMC’s streaming service instead of Disney’s.

There’s no Nautilus trailer yet or an official release date (except that it’s confirmed for 2024), but we’re keeping our eyes open for updates on this upcoming undersea adventure.

  • Release Date: TBA 2024
  • Format: Scripted series
  • Number of episodes: 10
  • Release Schedule: TBA
  • Genre(s): Adventure, Drama, Sci-fi

Parish

Parish is crime drama starring Giancarlo Esposito. And that’s reason enough to watch it.

Based on BBC One’s crime drama The Driver β€” and written by that show’ creator and writer, Danny Brocklehurst β€” Parish follows an ex-criminal return to his past life as he avenges the murder of his son.

Giancarlo Esposito on a violent rampage of revenge? Yes please.

  • Release Date: TBA 2024
  • Format: Scripted series
  • Number of episodes: TBA
  • Release Schedule: TBA
  • Genre(s): Crime drama

Potentially new series on AMC+ this year

AMC has a few more highly anticipated shows in development β€” like Alan Wake, Good Night, and Good Luck, and Max Headroom β€” but they’re more likely to come out in 2025. Or even later.

If you’d like to learn more, AMC’s in-house creative collective, Content Room, has a lot of intriguing shows in development worth taking a peak at.

Of course, we’ll update this page if anything else does come up.
