It’s been a long wait for the train to come back around, but the release of Snowpiercer Season 4 is finally confirmed! However, the news is both good and bad.
The good news is that the 4th and final season of Snowpiercer has found a home after it was unceremoniously canceled by TNT in 2023. All 4 seasons of the hit post-apocalyptic TV series have been picked up by AMC Networks.
The bad news is that, while the first 3 seasons will be coming to AMC+ later this year, we won’t get Season 4 until 2025. The final season will premiere on AMC’s linear channel along with AMC+, which means it’ll probably get a weekly release schedule.
The silver lining is that AMC has announced an “early 2025” premiere for Snowpiercer Season 4. Hopefully that means January or February, when there’s still snow on the ground in Chicago.

Snowpiercer Season 4 has been on the minds of loyal fans for almost a year now. So… where is it?
When Warner Bros. and Discovery merged in 2022 to become an even bigger entertainment corporation, Warner Bros. Discovery, it did what mega corporations do: Cut costs and kill off products that audiences love.
In the case of WBD, that meant putting an end to scripted programming on its 2 biggest television assets, TNT and TBS. This included scrapping shows like Kill the Orange-Faced Bear and Miracle Workers. The long-running animated comedy American Dad only survived the axe because it had fortuitously locked in a 2-season order right before the merger.
While there were many casualties of this corporate Scrooging — including the removal of Westworld seasons already on HBO Max — one of the most painful casualties has been Snowpiercer. Not only is the dystopian sci-fi thriller one of the most-loved shows around, its 4th and final season was already filmed, edited, and ready to go.
How’s that for a slap in the face to fans?
However, all hope is not lost. The show’s creator, Tomorrow Studios, regained control of the series and has been looking for a new partner to air or stream the show’s concluding season.
When is the Snowpiercer Season 4 release date?
So far every potential release date for Snowpiercer 4 has been speculation. There has been no official word from Tomorrow Studios on specific release date or what kind of headway they’ve been maing. The most recent update from the studio was September 13th, 2023, which came in the form of a Screen Rant article linked on its News page.
That article states the show’s owner is still looking for a buyer and references a Deadline interview with Snowpiercer’s producer, Marty Adelstein.
Snowpiercer we have Season 4 in the can, which hasn’t been seen yet. We’re talking to a number of buyers about buying the first three seasons and also Season 4 which is probably our best season; we’re in the middle of that.

But there’s some more recent news than that.
Just 2 days ago, TV Line shared that they recently interviewed Snowpiercer cast member Mike O’Malley — who plays brakeman Sam Roche — and asked about whether Snowpiercer Season 4 had found a home.
O’Malley assures fans “that entire fourth season is in the can and that’s going to end up somewhere.”
And while O’Malley’s answer is not what fans are hoping for, it simply means that the hunt continues. Snowpiercer, like the eponymous train itself, keeps circling the globe in search of a home.
I really, really can’t wait for that show to get out there and for people to see it, because it’s awesome.

Where can you watch Snowpiercer Seasons 1 to 3?
The Snowpiercer TV series was streaming on HBO Max until June 2022, when Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav embarked on his content massacre. The show was then scrubbed without warning from HBO Max along with Westworld and other fan favorites.
It’s almost like these entertainment execs want people to start buying DVDs and Blu-rays again rather than subscribe to their streaming services.
Fortunately, you don’t need to order any physical media copies of Snowpiercer just yet. While the beloved show is not streaming in America, it’s on Netflix in almost every other country.
That means if you have a VPN, you can just log in to a server in Mexico, Canada, or any country of your choosing, and watch the first 3 seasons of Snowpiercer at your leisure.
In Japan, you can watch Snowpiercer on Hulu as well as Netflix.
