UPDATE: February 22, 2024
Release date: June 13!
Amazon Studios finally officially dropped The Boys Season 4 release date. And, as we predicted, it’s an early-summer release. Actually, it’s technically still spring for 7 more days when the Season 4 premier of The Boys lands on June 13, 2024.
Now on to the next important question: Will The Boys Season 4 episodes be released all at once or on a weekly basis?
A bit of both actually.
The hybrid style of dropping 2 to 3 episodes on Day 1 then following up with weekly episodes has become a common release schedule among streaming services.
The Boys Season 4 will premiere with 3 episodes on June 13, after which the remaining 5 episodes will become available every week until the season finale on Thursday, July 18.
The press release also gave a nice little synopsis of what Season 4 of The Boys is about:
In Season Four, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.

While Prime Video still didn’t give us a release date, it gave another trailer. You can watch it below or on Vought International’s YouTube Channel.
Original post follows below
Prime Video doesn’t produce as many original shows as other streamers, but what it puts out is usually high-caliber programming. And one of the best shows that Prime has ever made—and one of the best superhero TV shows in television history—is returning with a brand new season.
It’s been over a-year-and-a-half since Season 3 of The Boys ended and we last saw Butcher, Hughie, and the rest of the, uh, boys (and girls) take on the world’s most famous supes.
While there is still no official release date for The Boys Season 4, there’s enough information to make an educated guess.

When is The Boys Season 4 release date?
Filming for The Boys Season 4 wrapped in April 2023, before the WGA strike started, but it still delayed the release of the show.
The show’s developer and producer, Eric Kripke, tweeted in June 2023 that the highly anticipated new season of The Boys would be delayed until the studios gave the writers a fair deal. ✊
However, the strike is now over and—as of January 30, 2024—Kripke’s Twitter (sorry, X) profile states that they are “Sooo close to finishing Season 4”. But who knows how often he updates his profile? And a Twitter profile is hardly an official statement.

One thing we do know is that The Boys has always been a summer release.
The Boys Season 1 premiered on July 26, with all episodes dropping at once. Season 2 premiered with 3 episodes on September 4, 2020, after which a new episode was released every week. It followed this 3+5 release schedule in June 2022 with Season 3.
Based on its track record, we’re betting on another summer release. And seeing as there’s been an extra long delay, we’re counting on (ie: hoping for) an early-summer release date for Season 4 of The Boys.
The Boys Season 4 Official Trailer
Prime Video dropped an official teaser trailer for The Boys Season 4 in December and it gets the blood pumping like Marie Moreau.
What is The Boys about?
The Boys is a satirical superhero series chock-full of over-the-top graphic violence used for comedic effect. It follows the exploits of the eponymous team of not-superheroes as they covertly (and eventually overtly) combat superheroes who abuse their powers.
The vigilante team focuses its attention on The Seven, the world’s top “supes” who are managed, marketed, and monetized by Vought International, the corporation that created them.

When was the last season of The Boys?
The Boys Season 3 premiered on June 3, 2022 with the first 3 episodes—Payback, The Only Man in the Sky, and Barbary Coast—dropping at once.
The season’s remaining 5 episodes were released weekly every Friday, with Season 3 concluding on July 8, 2022 with The Instant White-Hot Wild, which was the 24th episode overall.
That means if you haven’t watched the show before, it’ll take you roughly 24 hours to watch the entire series so far and be ready for The Boys Season 4.
Who is in The Boys Season 4?

🙈 SPOILER ALERT
The following section contains minor spoilers.
Returning cast members
They wouldn’t be The Boys without Butcher and Hughie, so Karl Urban and Jack Quaid are back in their respective roles. Rounding out their crew are Laz Alonso as MM, Tomer Capone as Frenchie, and Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko.
The same can be said for The Seven. They’re nothing without Homelander, so Antony Starr returns as the childish psychopath who leads Vought’s premium brand of super-powered humans.
Due to the events in Season 3 of The Boys, the only returning members of The Seven are Chace Crawford (The Deep) and Jessie T. Usher (A-Train). But fear not, Erin Moriarty’s Starlight is still returning as a main character. And Nathan Mitchell, who played Black Noir, returns as Black Noir II.
Claudia Doumit returns as the suspicious Victoria Neuman and Colby Minifie is back as the exquisitely annoying Ashley Barrett.
New and promoted cast members
New members of The Seven include Firecracker and Sister Sage, portrayed by Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward respectively—which brings the total number of members to six.
So who is the 7th member of The Seven in Season 4 of The Boys?
Seeing as Cameron Crovetti—who plays Homelander’s son Ryan Butcher—has been promoted to the main cast, the final member of The Seven may not even be old enough to drive.
But the most exciting casting news for The Boys season 4 is the addition of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, best known for his role as the brutally pragmatic Negan on AMC’s zombie apocalypse horror-drama franchise The Walking Dead.
There’s still no confirmation from official sources as to who Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays in The Boys Season 4. Although The Boys Wiki is confident to speculate that he portrays a character named Joe Kessler. (Warning: fandom.com has a ridiculous amount of ads, so follow the link at your own risk.)
What we can glean from The Boys Season4 trailer above is that, whoever he plays, he appears to be on the side of The Boys.
